Description
In this workshop we will discuss, demo and practice what is needed to understand and simplify a busy harbor scene. We will look at examples of work from some marine painters of the past ie. Emile Gruppe, Harry Ballinger and others. We can then apply this new knowledge to interpret harbor scenes from provided reference photos or you may bring your own. You will learn to draw and paint boats accurately and learn to understand how water and reflections behave and need to be interpreted. This will be a fun but intensive workshop. Plan to arrive a few minutes early and begin the morning with coffee, tea and pastries. Get to know your fellow workshop participants and enjoy viewing the paintings in our gallery and studio. Lunch is ordered from a local sandwich shop or you may bring one from home. We will have refreshments available throughout the day. This is a Saturday & Sunday workshop. Workshop Hours 10-5
