Dear Members,
What a beautiful spring season it has been. Pam and I continue to paint and teach in various places and we are now starting to gear up for our summer schedule which seems to be coming up fast!
David just returned from Wayne Pennsylvania where he participated in a week long plein air event and came home with first place! The Wayne Plein Air Festival is now in its fifth year and David has participated in each one. He has received 'Best of Show' twice in this event, taken home some honorable mentions and now received the First Place award. Jurors for this event have included Sara Linda Poly, Roger Dale Brown, John Poon, William Scott Jennings and Billy O'Donnell. David's latest blog post is about his week spent painting in Wayne. You can read his blog at www.davidlussier.blogspot.com
David's painting 'Fall in Woodstock' has been accepted into the Hudson Valley Art Association's 80th Annual Exhibition. This 24x30 painting will be a part of the exhibition which will be held at the Lyme Art Association and then travel to the National Arts Club in New York City.

If you are looking for a late spring painting workshop, we have just added three days of plein air painting 'Capturing Light Plein Air' to be held in Stonington Connecticut. The workshop is through the Four Starr Gallery at 22 Bayview Ave. If you paint in a medium other than oils you are also welcome to join this class. We routinely have participants who paint in a medium other than oils. Stonington Connecticut is a beautiful seaside town with painting material that can be found in every direction. There is still an active marine commercial fishing fleet in the harbor. Gillnetters, draggers and lobster boats still make up a diverse fleet at the town docks.
We hope that you will sign up for this workshop which is coming up fast. You will find more information about this and other workshops on our gallery website.
This will be our 12th year teaching on Monhegan Island! Our five-day Monhegan Island Workshop still has room for more participants. This workshop begins on Monday August 8th and goes through Friday August 12th. This is a step back in time, the pace is simple and slow and conducive to opening up your creative self. Monhegan has been an artist colony for over one hundred years and continues to charm those that come to paint and explore its rustic village and rocky cliffs by the edge of the sea. It is clearly an island that time forgot. Monhegan Island is both an extremely captivating place for artists and still an affordable vacation destination! August continues to be a great weather month on the island. Over 15 years of painting there in August has proven this!
Accommodations begin to fill up fast on Monhegan. If you are interested in joining us, you can register online or give us a call. We'll be happy to use our expertise to find you a place to stay and answer all your workshop questions.
