This one day workshop will be held on the beautiful grounds of the Hamilton House in South Berwick Maine. In my one hour demo, I will show you how I work alla prima to capture color, value and shapes quickly and efficiently. Faithful copying of every detail you see doesn't work and only destroys the illusion. A simplified color and value is paramount to success. This simplified approach allows the painter to say more with less, which should be the goal of every painting.
In the event that we have inclement weather, we will work in my spacious studio from photo references taken at the Hamilton House. My studio is located in the Rollinsford Mills just 7 minutes from the grounds.
