This painting started out as a demo for our Monhegan workshop. I spent a little more time with it after my initial demo time on location to wrap it up as a finished piece. This painting was a healing piece for me, even though no one knew what it meant to me at the time I painted it. I love painting at this location on Monhegan Island. The low tide makes it extra special, but then again so does high tide. They are just two very different paintings. The bright morning sun in this made for a higher key painting and some of the color and value relationships were a wonderful struggle to work through.
